Current Visa Status Must hold a Substantive visa, Bridging visa A (BVA) Subclass 010, Bridging visa B (BVB) Subclass 020, or Bridging visa C (BVC) Subclass 030. Skills Assessment Must have a suitable skills assessment at the time of invitation. Skills assessment must be obtained within 60 days of the invitation or within 3 years prior. Medical and legal practitioners can provide specific registrations or admissions as proof of skills assessment.
Age Requirement Must be under 45 years of age at the time of invitation.
Points Requirement Must score at least 65 points based on the claims made in the EOI. Points are assessed based on age, education, work experience, and language proficiency.
English Language Proficiency Must have at least competent English at the time of invitation.
Occupation Occupation must be on the relevant list of eligible skilled occupations for the 190 Skilled Nominated visa.
Health Requirement Must meet the health requirements. Family members applying for the visa must also meet health requirements.
Character Requirement Must meet the character requirements. Family members aged 16 years and over applying for the visa must also meet character requirements.
Debt to the Australian Government Must have paid back or arranged to pay back any debt owed to the Australian Government.
Australian Values Statement Must sign an Australian Values Statement confirming respect for Australian values and laws.

Step 1: Before You Apply
  • Check Eligibility: You must ensure that your occupation is on the relevant list of eligible skilled occupations for the Subclass 190 visa.
  • Skills Assessment: The applicant must get a suitable skills assessment from the assessing authority listed against your occupation. The assessment must be obtained within the 3 years before the date of invitation.
  • Check Points: You need to confirm that you can obtain at least 65 points on the points test.
  • Meet Other Criteria: The applicant must check that you meet all other eligibility criteria for the visa.
  • Gather Documents: You should collect documents to support the claims you make in your Expression of Interest (EOI) and to meet other visa criteria.
  • Submission: You are required to submit your EOI via SkillSelect, either from within or outside Australia. Further, select the Skilled Nominated (subclass 190) visa. Also, there’s no fee for submitting an EOI.
  • After Submission: SkillSelect will estimate your points score based on the claims made in your EOI. Your EOI will be visible to state and territory governments for potential nomination.
  • Invitation: If you meet the criteria and have the necessary points, you may receive an invitation to apply for the visa. You have 60 calendar days to apply from the date of the invitation. The invitation email will specify the required points score.
  • Application: Apply for the visa online through ImmiAccount.
  • Visa Status Updates: You need to await confirmation of receipt of your application. Also, check ImmiAccount for updates or requests for additional information.
  • Travel: If you’re in Australia, you can travel outside the country while the application is being processed.
  • Health Exams and Biometrics: If necessary, undergo health examinations and provide biometrics as requested.
  • Attach Documents: Attach any required documents in ImmiAccount.
  • Stay Lawful: Maintain lawful status in Australia throughout the processing period.
  • Decision: You must await the decision on your visa application. You’ll be informed in writing of the outcome.
  • Visa Grant or Refusal: If granted, details such as visa grant number, start date, and conditions will be provided. If refused, reasons for refusal will be communicated along with any rights to review the decision.

Cost of Application of Subclass 190 Visa

The primary applicant’s visa costs AUD 4,640.00 (INR 256,445.84). Additional fees apply for each accompanying family member.

There may be an extra charge, called the second instalment, for any applicant aged 18 or older who has less than functional English. This fee, AUD 4,885 (INR 269,986.62), is payable only if the visa is approved and upon request.
